I moved to London in 2019 from the east coast of the United States and joined the BMJ Group events team in early 2022. 

I look after the logistics and programmes for multiple events across our portfolio. This conference unites people from diverse backgrounds, all working together to make a difference!

I've been lucky enough to lead the Events team at BMJ Group since 2017.

My main goal is to help the team grow, develop, and deliver amazing events. I also have the pleasure of working closely with our partners and sponsors to make sure everyone has the most impactful experience possible.

Our events change practice and improve outcomes, we can’t wait to bring together the innovation community in our most future focused conference yet.

Dr Helen Surana is Associate Editor at BMJ Innovations – assessing and managing manuscripts, peer review and commissioning articles for special editions.

She trained as an anaesthetist in the NHS and as a science communicator. She’s worked at BMJ Group in a number of roles since 2007 and loves digital transformation, education ethics and evidence.

She is passionate about bringing the patient’s lived experience into all aspects of healthcare and research.

Helen is the host of the Future Health podcast.

Originally from Greece but born and raised in Belgium, I moved to the UK for my bachelor’s in 2017.

I have been part of the BMJ Group team since early 2024 and I oversee registrations for various events.
