Beyond heroics: Building organisations that learn
Format:
Interactive discussion supported by practical organisational examples.
Purpose:
The final session brings the previous discussions together by exploring how organisations build the capability to improve continuously through effective management systems. Rather than relying on exceptional individuals or isolated improvement projects, participants will consider how management systems help make leadership, learning and improvement part of everyday work.
Bringing together perspectives from the Virginia Mason Institute and NHS mental health leadership demonstrates that these principles apply across very different organisational contexts.

Why this matters:
Leadership and culture create the conditions for improvement, but lasting change depends on the systems that support everyday practice. By sharing practical examples from different healthcare systems, this session will leave participants with ideas they can begin adapting in their own organisations immediately.
