Purpose
Healthcare organisations across the world face remarkably similar challenges: increasing complexity, workforce pressures, rising demand and the need to improve quality while delivering better outcomes for patients. Regardless of country or healthcare system, sustainable improvement depends on leadership, organisational culture and the ability to build organisations that learn.
The day explores the leadership approaches, behaviours and organisational conditions that enable continuous improvement in complex healthcare systems. While informed by the ambitions of the NHS Quality Strategy, the themes are relevant to healthcare leaders working across different organisations and health systems.
Programme design
The programme is structured as a progressive leadership journey.
Each session builds on the previous one, moving from understanding the nature of complex organisational challenges, to creating the cultural conditions for addressing those challenges, before exploring how organisations embed learning through effective management systems.
Together, the three sessions explore how leadership, culture and management systems combine to build organisations capable of continuous learning and sustained improvement.
