Tech to save time: how the NHS can realise the benefits

What if technology designed to save time in the NHS is actually doing the opposite?

A recent study by The Health Foundation reveals that many health technologies, like electronic health records and robotic surgery, fail to deliver time savings due to poor implementation. 

The problem isn’t just choosing the right technology, it's how it’s implemented.

Difficulties in integration, challenges around adoption and adaption into existing workflows, and insufficient training often add to staff workloads, highlighting the need for better adoption and engagement. 

By optimising existing tech, like AI and EHRs, the NHS could unlock significant productivity gains. 

Are we truly making the most of the technologies already in place? Could improving implementation help the NHS realise the full potential of digital health?
