Anne Marie Cunningham
Dr Anne Marie Cunningham is a GP and healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical practice, digital transformation, public health and health system leadership. She currently serves as Medical Advisor to the Strategic Planning and Performance Group within the Department of Health, Northern Ireland, where she supports strategic planning and the delivery of sustainable, high-quality healthcare.
Throughout her career across Wales and Northern Ireland, Dr Cunningham has led national digital health programmes, driven cross-system service redesign and championed innovation in primary care. She is passionate about strengthening primary care as the foundation of sustainable health systems, advancing value-based healthcare and improving outcomes through equitable, evidence-informed approaches.
A recognised advocate for digital innovation and collaborative leadership, Dr Cunningham has played a key role in developing multi-professional models of care and creating learning health systems that connect data, clinical leadership and practical population health strategies. She is also the organiser of NHS Hack Day, bringing together patients, clinicians, technologists and innovators to solve real-world healthcare challenges through collaboration and co-design.
Dr Cunningham recently completed the Harvard Value-Based Healthcare Delivery programme and continues to champion healthcare transformation that aligns innovation, technology and clinical leadership to deliver better care, reduce unwarranted variation and improve health outcomes for patients and communities.
