Avi Mehra is a medical doctor turned digital health leader, working at the forefront of transforming healthcare through technology. He is Associate Partner and Chief Safety Officer, Healthcare & Life Sciences (Global) at IBM, where he leads transformation initiatives with healthcare clients worldwide, leveraging advanced technology and consulting expertise to deliver meaningful change.

With deep expertise in digital health and AI, Avi focuses on the safe and responsible application of AI and emerging technologies in healthcare. As IBM’s Clinical Safety Officer, he oversees enterprise-wide approaches to responsible AI and digital clinical safety. His work spans the UK, Europe, the Middle East, the US, and Asia-Pacific, where he has successfully built and led high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams on a global scale.

Beyond IBM, Avi is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Doctorpreneurs, one of the world’s first and largest communities for medical innovators and entrepreneurs. He is also a Fellow at the British Computer Society, a former member of the World Economic Forum AI Governance Alliance, and serves as a trusted advisor to startups, innovation units, and VCs.

A regular speaker at leading health technology conferences, including as Co-Chair of the HETT Show, Avi also lectures at universities and supports the next generation of leaders as a mentor and coach.
