Erwin Loh
Professor Erwin Loh is President of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) and one of Australia’s leading voices in medical leadership, clinical governance, and healthcare transformation.
A specialist medical administrator, lawyer, academic and healthcare executive, Erwin has held senior leadership roles across some of Australia’s largest health organisations. He is currently National Director of Medical Services at Calvary Health Care and has previously served as Group Chief Medical Officer at St Vincent’s Health Australia, Chief Medical Officer at Goulburn Valley Health, and Chief Medical Officer at Monash Health.
Internationally recognised for his expertise in health leadership, ethics, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation, Erwin has been an invited speaker at more than 200 conferences worldwide and has authored numerous books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed publications. He is co-editor of the Textbook of Medical Administration and Leadership and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Erwin holds adjunct professorial appointments at Monash University, the University of Melbourne, and Macquarie University, where he contributes to research and education in medical leadership and health systems improvement. He is also a member of the Australian Health Ethics Committee and its AI Working Group, advising on the ethical application of emerging technologies in healthcare.
Qualified in medicine, law, and management, Erwin holds degrees in medicine, law, health service management, and business administration, together with a PhD in management. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to medical leadership, governance, research, and mentorship, he was awarded RACMA’s Distinguished Fellow Award.
