Jacqueline del Castillo

Dr. Jacqueline del Castillo manages an internal innovation program at the WHO Innovation Hub which supports all staff to develop ideas to accelerate impact in global health challenges. As a global innovation leader and advisor, Jacqueline supports putting people at the heart of healthcare innovation. She has worked at leading centres of expertise in the UK and US such as Mayo Clinic, Nesta and the Blue Shield of California Foundation as well as designed medical devices for low-resource settings globally. Her research into health social movements is influencing strategies to resource social movements for issues such as disability justice and health equity. Jacqueline holds a PhD from the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London (Department of Surgery and Cancer) and an MS/BS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University and the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. She teaches on the MSc in Healthcare and Design, through Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, and serves on the Patient Advocacy Committee of the European Society for Bone and Marrow Transplantation (The EBMT).
