Dr Maxine Mackintosh is a leading thinker at the convergence of AI, data science, genomics, and healthcare equity. Based at Oxford’s Ellison Institute of Technology, she shapes global health strategy with a focus on inclusive, real‑world translation and the ethical use of data. 

As co‑founder of both One HealthTech—a global grassroots community promoting diversity in health innovation—and Data Science for Health Equity, Maxine works to ensure health technologies deliver benefits for every population. Her past leadership role at Genomics England’s “Diverse Data” programme saw her overseeing national efforts to broaden the representation of genomic datasets in the UK. 

Her research affiliations with the Alan Turing Institute and University of Oxford focus on fairness, bias, and inclusion in health AI systems—always with a practical lens on impact and equity. Known for her creativity and collaborative spirit, Maxine champions the vital link between technology, ethics and social justice in healthcare innovation.
