Dr. Prashant Mishra is the Managing Director for the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Group in India and South Asia, where he spearheads strategic initiatives to enhance healthcare outcomes across the region. He is on the board of BMJ India, is part of the Executive Team for BMJ Publishing Group Pvt Ltd, London, and a member of the Strategic Leadership Team.

A recognized leader in the publishing industry, Prashant is the founding Vice Chair of the STM Association India Chapter (the International Association of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers), a global trade body advocating for academic and professional publishers in science, technology, medicine, and scholarly communication. He also serves as the President of the Association of Publishers in India (API), representing diverse segments of the Indian publishing industry, including academic, educational, professional, and trade publishing. Under his leadership, API promotes collaboration, advocacy, and professional growth in the sector.

Prashant is also a published author, having contributed articles to esteemed national and international journals, further reflecting his thought leadership and expertise in his field.

His academic credentials include a PhD and MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, equipping him with a solid foundation in leadership and strategic thinking. He is a member of the Board of Studies for the School of Healthcare Management at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, where he also mentors aspiring professionals. He frequently participates as a panellist on industry-relevant and societal issues and is a guest faculty member at renowned institutions like BIMTECH, NMIMS, Bennett University & Doon Business School.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Prashant is dedicated to sustainability. He actively volunteers with the HCL Foundation's Clean Noida Project and leads BMJ India’s Sustainability Champions Group as its Chairperson, driving initiatives aligned with global sustainability goals.
