Rachel Gemine is the Assistant Director of Evidence, Evaluation and Effectiveness at the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee, an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Swansea University, and an Associate Editor at BMJ Leader. With over 15 years of experience in research and innovation, Rachel has a strong background in clinical trials, MedTech, and health service evaluation. She has played a key role in securing research funding exceeding £25 million and brings expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, innovation pathways, digital health, data utilisation, and service commissioning. Passionate about leadership and management in healthcare, Rachel combines academic insight with practical impact—and when she’s not shaping the future of health services, she’s likely out on a run.
