Rajesh Aggarwal is a physician executive leader with a remarkable track record of success, in areas of clinical care, education, innovation, research, patient safety and service quality, to transform clinical care delivery across complex academic and community health systems, from the UK to the US and Canada.
In his roles as PhD scientist in virtual reality and robotic surgical technologies and advanced GI surgeon at Imperial College London, clinical and academic leader at University of Pennsylvania and McGill University, and EVP Strategic Ventures at Jefferson Health and Professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University, Rajesh has deep expertise to construct and execute on venture, strategic, research and commercial partnership deals, for health systems to deliver real impact to their stakeholders, with external parties.
His accomplishments comprise over 6,000 surgical cases, including the first adolescent bariatric surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2012, and one of few surgeons who operated regularly on complex morbidly obese patients, including those awaiting heart or kidney transplantation. Rajesh has also led the development of minimally invasive esophageal and gastric cancer surgical programs. He has published over 300 academic manuscripts, garnered $17M in funding through peer-reviewed grants, with his work being cited over
21,000 times and an h-index of 77, in addition to almost $10M in philanthropic donations.
In 2020, Rajesh joined Panda Health, a newly minted start-up company that developed a marketplace for health systems to source, procure and contract with digital health suppliers. In 2022, Rajesh founded twenty30 health; an early-stage company to deliver a whole-person, end-to-end system of care for individuals with obesity and metabolic disease. In his current role as President at docaggarwal LLC, he has worked as a digital health start-up investor, strategist and advisor, unlocking value to drive clinical, operational and financial
outcomes.
