Rosalind Campion

CEO, Academy of Medical Sciences

Rosalind “Roz” Campion is the Director of the Office for Life Sciences (OLS) in the UK Government, a joint unit embedding life sciences and innovation strategy across the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology and the Department of Health & Social Care.

Roz’s portfolio spans international engagement, policy alignment, and industry-government interfacing: she leads efforts to coordinate life sciences policy across Whitehall, promote research and innovation adoption in health systems, and ensure the UK remains globally competitive in biotech, medtech and health data sectors.

Prior to leading the OLS, Roz held senior roles across government: Director for International Energy & Climate Finance at BEIS; Director of EU Exit Implementation in the Cabinet Office; Principal Private Secretary to the Home Secretary; and senior international strategy roles including at the UK Embassies in Tokyo and Washington DC. She began her career as a corporate lawyer in London, specialising in market access and international law.

Roz brings a rare mix of diplomatic, legal, policy, and international strategy experience into the life sciences domain. She is known for her ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder landscapes, connect science and innovation with policy levers, and advocate for coordinated, mission-driven investment in health and biotech.
