Dr Shubs Upadhyay is a senior primary care physician and digital health leader with extensive experience designing, implementing and evaluating AI-enabled healthcare solutions across the UK, Europe, the US and Africa. He has led multidisciplinary teams spanning clinical, product and design functions, helping health technology companies integrate AI safely and effectively into real-world care.

Previously Co-Chair of the Clinical Evaluation Working Group for the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Focus Group on AI for Health, Dr Upadhyay contributed to the development of international guidance for evaluating AI in healthcare. He is also a Guest Editor for Springer Nature's npj Digital Medicine special collection.

Drawing on frontline clinical experience in the UK, Sierra Leone and Australia, Dr Upadhyay specialises in clinical AI evaluation, medical quality, digital health strategy and evidence generation. Through his consultancy, writing and the Global Perspectives on Digital Health podcast, he champions technology that delivers measurable value, improves patient outcomes and supports more equitable healthcare systems.
