Susan Shelmerdine
Susan's mission is to combine the magic of digital technology and children's needs to make medicine better, safer, and more inclusive for kids everywhere.
As a paediatric (children's) radiologist, academic, entrepreneur, and digital health innovator, Susan wears many hats but they all serve one purpose: transforming children's healthcare through thoughtful technology and advocating for better inclusion.
Susan was recently named an AI Visionary by the Dept of Health and Social Care, believing that technology should help solve real-world problems and work for everyone, especially our youngest patients!
Whether it's leading research (~£2M in grants), sharing knowledge (140+ peer reviewed publications, 60+ invited lectures), advising on healthcare policy (NICE EVA/ MHRA expert panel) - Susan wants to make complex concepts simple, accessible, and human-centred.
