Tony Young
Professor Tony Young OBE is a practicing NHS consultant urological surgeon and a prominent figure in medical innovation. He holds the position of National Clinical Director for Innovation at NHS England, where he provides clinical leadership to enhance health outcomes across the country.
In addition to his clinical role, Professor Young serves as Director of Medical Innovation at Anglia Ruskin University. His entrepreneurial spirit is evident through the founding of four Med-Tech start-ups and the co-creation of the £500 million Anglia Ruskin Med-Tech Campus, aimed at establishing one of the world's largest health innovation spaces.
In 2015, he launched the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, now recognized as the world's largest entrepreneurial workforce development initiative for clinicians. His contributions to clinical leadership were honored with an OBE in the 2019 New Year's Honours list.
Professor Young also holds the position of Associate Medical Director at the Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Group and presides over the Institute of Decontamination Sciences.
His extensive experience and leadership continue to drive innovation and excellence within the NHS and the broader medical community.
