Victoria Furfie
Victoria Furfie is a seasoned AHP and digital health leader driving transformative care at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. With a foundation in speech and language therapy, Victoria now serves as the Trust’s Chief Clinical Information Officer. She plays a pivotal role in embedding digital excellence across the organisation, ensuring technology supports outstanding care for children and young people.
Victoria has led key initiatives such as the award‑winning “CYP as One” referral platform—which uses co‑design with young people, families and clinicians to improve access and streamline mental health services. At Alder Hey, recognised as a Global Digital Exemplar and HIMSS Level 7 Trust, she champions a culture of “digital first, clinical centred” innovation where front‑line needs directly shape technological adoption.
Her expertise lies in building bridges between clinical practice and IT delivery—translating clinician input into intuitive systems, speeding up pathways, and reducing administrative burden. In… 2023 she contributed to a major NHS Providers article on how Alder Hey achieved digital workforce culture, stating: “The role of the CCIO is to act as a translator between clinical need and technical possibility.” Victoria continues to advocate for digital equity, co‑production and inclusive innovation to deliver better outcomes for children, families and staff alike.
